Healthcare providers ask for comment | News, Sports, Jobs

LISBON – The Columbiana County Health Department and other health partners in the region are seeking feedback on the community’s top health issues from those who use their services.

The first step for community partners to create a community health improvement plan is a survey that takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. A link to the survey is available on the Columbiana County General Health District website at columbiana-health.org. Paper surveys are also available.

“I think it’s really important that residents do this so that we can tailor our services to their needs” said Laura Fauss, public information officer for the Columbiana County General Health District.

Survey responses are anonymous and will be used to help partnership members better focus on the residents’ real health issues.

Once the survey is completed on November 19, the information collected will be combined with data collected from the census and other sources. Focus groups will be formed to discuss the results and the interviews conducted. Then a written plan will be created for future public health goals and health care options in the region.

In order for the survey and study results to adequately reflect the whole community, the partners hope to elicit the response from a wide variety of people, including vulnerable people, people living in poverty, groups minority and the elderly.

Partners involved in the assessment are Akron Children’s Hospital, Columbiana County Community Action Agency, Columbiana County Educational Services Center, Columbiana County Health District, Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool Health District, Family and Children First Council, Ohio State University Extension, Salem City Health District, and Salem Regional Medical Center.
